Alright, so I said I was going to post one graphic novel project-related thing a month, and I'm starting with this.

His name is Norman, and he's a rising DJ in England. His stage name is Mia Starlin. He is a friend of the German twins, no doubt you have seen them in my gallery.

There he is, in all his glory, looking very much like the missing extra from a Ke$ha music video. That or a messed up Barbie doll with clothes borrowed from the '80s.

He does like his glitter, I'll tell you that much.

Comments and critiques are much appreciated, as I'm still at a stand still with the style I want to go with when approaching the comic.

Bio: Born as a man, Norman had a normal life until he was five, when his father left the house for unknown reasons. Afterward, his mother developed a horrifying aversion to men, and would insist that she did not have a son, but a daughter. She dressed him up in girl’s clothes, and conditioned him to think and behave like a girl. Norman had no problem with this until he reached puberty, when the signs of his masculinity began to show through more clearly. His mother almost forced him to have a surgical sex change so that once and for all, he would truly be female to her. Norman realizing his true identity, refused to comply with his mother’s demands. He wanted to feel like a man, because that is what he was. Things only got worse over time, until Norman decided to run away. He has not talked to his mother since.

Norman started a band with some friends whom he trusted to keep his real self a secret until the time was right. After being in the band for a few years, he began his addiction to cocaine. This became a threat to his life one night, after almost dying of overdose in his apartment, alone with no one around him to help. After he recovered from the ordeal, he quit drugs and the band, hoping to reinvent himself as a solo DJ, to which he has been quite successful. This happened about the same time he became pen pals with Han, one of the well-known inventor twins from Germany. One day he had tweeted him by accident, and surprisingly Han wrote back. Knowing there was a willing ear somewhere in the world made him able to release a lot of built up tension from his life, and the two quickly became friends. Norman hopes that someday he can meet Han in person.
